The
Beauty Of Autumn
Autumn is
my favorite time
of the year,
When leaves are
turning red and
gold,
My eyes can't seem
to grasp,
The beauty they
behold.

I love the crisp
cool air,
So refreshing and
so clean,
After the hot Summer
days,
They were so long
it seemed.

We have the holidays
to look forward
to,
With all our family
and friends.
The starting of
a new Season,
That seems to never
end.

There’s Halloween
with costumes and
games,
And cookouts on
the grill,
It’s cool enough
to play till dark,
Until the air begins
to chill.

We decorate with
all the pumpkins,
And all else we
picked at harvest.
We’ve all been busy
as can be,
We’ve worked our
very hardest.

We want this year
to be remembered,
As the most beautiful
by far,
As we sit by the
fireplace this Winter,
Just enjoying the
glowing fire.

Time has a way of
just slipping by,
So be thankful for
each day,
As you walk across
the pastures,
Take notice of the
smell of fresh cut
hay.

I remember water
melon picking time,
How good it was
to see,
That first ripe
watermelon,
Was like heaven
to me.

Daddy would pick
some,
And roll them under
the bed,
And they would stay
so nice and cool,
One of the best
things I ever had.

One of our favorites
for Thanksgiving,
Was a big old pumpkin
pie.
I think that was
the thing that mostly,
Caught my Daddy’s
eye.

It just seems that
Autumn,
Is just full of
good sweet things,
Like apples and
pears wrapped in
paper,
That lasted months
it seemed.

My Mother worked
so hard,
You’d think she’d
have to stop,
But she enjoyed
the things she did,
She canned an awful
lot.

When I see the displays
of pumpkins,
So big and orange
and nice,
The apples and pears
on the trees,
So juicy and so
ripe.

It’s nice to pick
your own off the
tree,
They 're so much
fun to take.
Their leaves will
be falling soon,
Then the leaves
we’ll have to rake.

There isn’t anything
we don’t like,
It’s all fun though
this time of year,
We’ll be looking
to the time of Christmas,
And to all the Christmas
cheer.

Then comes New Year's
Day,
Celebrated with
fireworks and parties,
A time to make new
friends and start
anew,
And show the world,
where our heart
is.
